- Jim introduced the past presidents and past executive members in attendance, the present executive and council members in attendance

Deficit:- Deficit of expenses over income for year: 2,624
- Dec.31, 2004 cash on hand 18,263
- Yearbook/Newsletter:
Ads of over 12,000, more than offset printing and mailing costs of 10,000; newsletter ad revenues of 2,000 contribute to printing costs of 3,200. - Memberships:
Income is almost 24,000 provided by 787 paid members - C&W Roast:
Receipts of 934; costs of 1936;net cost to association 1,002
- Lake Safety:
Lake Markers 1,685; Boat course 569; Water testing 499;Equipment and repair (CLPOA boat storage, maintenance and amortization) 2,469 - Lake Capacity Study:
Total approved budget 10,000; spent 6,100 in 2004; rest to spend in 2005 - Website and Computer:
Website and computer operating costs of 2,600 - Insurance:
Spent 3,300, up over 100% from 1,600 in 2004 - Outlook:
CLPOA has purchased another computer system. The Association now owns computers for producing the yearbook, for producing newsletters and maintaining membership records. We have a healthy bank balance

Municipal Update: Councillor Barry Rand
Community Policing:- looking for interested volunteers to become involved in Community Policing
- Apsley’s leader in this area is Ed Robertson
- Community Watch Program hopes to keep things from happening
- The Boatwise course is a positive connection into community policing
- talked about the Source Water Protection Act and management of ground water/water sources
- water must be clean from the sources
- Docktalk program will help this by raising consciousness and teaching cottagers how
- Chandos Lake Capacity study has shown how advanced we are being able to provide important data for hydro geologists
- hoping to improve 620/Barley site
- infra structure funding is available from the province with $300,00 this year and $80,000 for Fire protection, and $400,000 next year
- presently, you can get service if you are 500 m from Burleigh St., and High Speed for 2 or 3 meters
- phase three is trying to improve service in this area
- 620 landfill will likely close this summer although there is some reserve capacity
- Anstruther is almost ready to be changed into a high tech. transfer site
- Councillor Rand would like feed back regarding the garbage pick up
- Boatwise Course: Harold Forbes
- a special thanks to Harold Forbes for his huge commitment to the Lake in all his endeavours, especially the Boatwise Courses which so many of our younger boaters have valued!
- Boatwise course adapted the test so that youngsters could have their temporary licence
- the courses have been very successful over the years
- Regatta: Chris Popovich
- the insurance issue has been resolved, so the regatta will go ahead this year even though liability wavers have to be signed for event participators
- this year, there will be a new Tube Race, and Mystery Event involving teams of six
- Docktalk Program: Rachel O’Shea and Doug Halls
- this is a FOCA program, funded by the Trillium Association available to 100 people on the lake
- the goal is to enhance to quality of Chandos shorelines, and encourage the achievement of a sustainable living environment along the lakeshore
- the visits are confidential, and the data is used to collect information about the lake
- issues discussed will be erosion, runoff control, invasive species, septic systems and their care, wildlife, environmentally friendly cleaners and many more
- Medical Centre Update: Neil and Peter Gorham
- Neil talked about the 5 k walk/run on Saturday, August 13 to raise money for the Medical Site
- Cal Taillefer thanked Neil and Peter for organizing these special events, and mentioned also the golf tournament at the Marvel Rapids Golf Course
- the three year campaign to date has raised over half of the $350,000 goal
- presently, they are looking for corporate sponsorship and would like to talk to people who are able, through their corporations , to donate in a bigger way, since all cottage owners will benefit form this medical center
- Bearwise Program: Amy White, Trevor Simpson and Mr. Harris
- our speakers promoted the importance or education and awareness when it comes to dealing with bears, and gave out information and pamphlets
- some tips; don’t feed birds in the summer months; don’t put meat, fish or sweet things in the compost
- everyone needs to be “on board” in safe procedures, because if there’s just one that doesn’t, the bears will be around for food
- bear sighting could be reported to MNR who may capture and relocate
- Cottage Automation: Art Verway
- Art and his brother gave an excellent demonstration and explanation of the advantages of solar heating to which there was informative discussion and questions
- visit www.copperhill.ca for information on how to save up to %50 of utility bills by heating water from the sun
- New Business
- discussed WRAFT program, ( Waterfront Ratepayers After Fair Taxation), a lobby group fighting for a fairer system for distributing property taxes in Ontario
- mentioned that Stoney Lake is developing a Lake Plan
- FOCA - Terry Reese is now actively heading it up
